What Is the Soil Extruder, Motor Operated Used For?
Undisturbed samples taken in sampling tubes on site have to be removed in the laboratory with a steady push, so that the soil is not cracked or compressed before testing. The tube is held in the adjustable V bearing, the matching adaptor is fitted, and the operator uses the lever to set the extruding speed and open the hydraulic valve; the ram then pushes the soil out onto the receiving table. Stopping the ram part-way allows the sample to be pushed straight into smaller sample tubes or cut into shorter specimens, and the return movement brings the ram back for the next tube.
