What Is the Power Door Lock System Trainer Used For?
Central locking ties every door lock actuator to a common switch circuit, so pressing a button or flipping a switch at the driver's or front passenger's door locks or unlocks all the doors together, usually through a relay that handles the actuator current. Here students build that circuit themselves, connecting the switches, relay and actuators with the supplied jumper leads while following the OEM wiring diagrams. Once the trainer works on its 12V DC supply, the instructor sets up to four faults in the lockable fault box and students locate them by checking the circuit at the electrical test points.

Frequently Asked Questions
What components are mounted on the board?
There are 2 power door lock actuators, the switches, a door lock relay, a fault box with 4 faults and electrical test points, all OEM parts with matching wire colours.
Do students wire the circuit themselves?
Yes, they wire it using the supplied set of 21 jumper leads, each 24 in (60 cm) long, and the included OEM wiring diagrams.
Can the instructor set faults for diagnosis?
Yes. The lockable system fault box lets the instructor insert from one to four faults, which students then find through the electrical test points.
What power does the trainer need?
It requires an external 12V DC power supply to operate, and a user manual is included with the trainer.
What does a power door lock system do in a vehicle?
It allows the driver or front passenger to lock or unlock all the doors of a car or truck at the same time by pressing a button or flipping a switch.
What size is the training board?
About 550 × 400 × 300 mm (length × width × height), with a weight of approximately 20 kg.
