Accelerated Curing Tank
Product Code : EL-CTLE-10293
Accelerated Curing Tank (code EL-CTLE-10293) is a fully insulated, stainless steel lined tank for hot water or steam curing of concrete cubes so that strength develops faster, taking 150 mm or 70.6 mm cube moulds and curing up to 36/72 moulds in one go. It runs a 24 hour cycle from mixing at a controlled 35° C or 100° C ± 2° C for concrete, or 27° C ± 2° C for grey cement, under an electronic programmer that holds up to four cycles.

What Is the Accelerated Curing Tank Used For?
Normal moist curing means waiting weeks for a strength result, whereas accelerated curing raises the temperature of the specimens so that an early strength figure is ready the day after casting and can be used to predict later strength and control production. Freshly made cubes in their 150 mm or 70.6 mm moulds are set on the two racks and immersed, and the programmer runs the chosen cycle of heating, holding and timing, with a printout available from the 28 column thermal printer. The pump keeps water moving round every mould for an even temperature, and the cubes come out for testing at the end of the 24 hour cycle. The standards listed are ASTM C684 and BS 1881:112.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the number of curing tanks required.
- Cube size — whether 150 mm or 70.6 mm cube moulds are to be cured.
- Curing method — hot water curing or steam curing, and whether concrete or grey cement specimens are to be cured.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many cubes can the curing tank take at once?
The tank accommodates 150 mm and 70.6 mm cube moulds, and up to 36/72 cube moulds can be cured in one go on its two removable racks.
What curing temperatures does the tank control?
For concrete the temperature is controlled at 35° C or 100° C ± 2° C, and for grey cement at 27° C ± 2° C, except during the 15 minutes after freshly made specimens are immersed.
How long does an accelerated curing cycle last?
The cycle is 24 hours from the time of mixing, and the electronic programmer can hold up to four cycles with different thermal gradients and curing times.
How is the water heated and kept moving?
An immersion heater warms the water under normal conditions, a thermostat controls it, and a re-circulating pump moves it round each mould on the two removable racks.
What is the curing tank made of?
The interior is stainless steel, the tank is fully insulated and closed by a hinged lid, and the pump, drain valves and electrical equipment sit in a compartment at one end.
Which standards are listed for accelerated curing?
The standards listed are ASTM C684 and BS 1881:112, and the tank is set up for both hot water and steam curing of test cubes.
