Vibrating Table

Vibrating Table

Product Code : EL-CTLE-10296

Vibrating Table (code EL-CTLE-10296) is a table for compacting concrete in test specimen moulds by vibration, with a 500 × 500 mm top designed to carry a load of 140 kg. Off-balance masses on a vibrator shaft under the top give between 3600 and 2600 vibrations per minute, adjusted with a speed regulation handle, and the motor takes a 230 Volts, A.C. single phase, 50 cycles supply.

What Is the Vibrating Table Used For?

Fresh concrete placed in a mould holds trapped air, and compacting it by vibration drives that air out so the hardened specimen is dense and its test result reflects the concrete rather than its voids. Filled moulds are set on the table top inside the edge stops and held down under the cross arm; the operator starts the motor and sets the frequency with the speed handle, vibrating until the concrete surface settles and air bubbles stop rising. Vibration is then stopped, and the specimens are finished off and set aside to cure. The standards listed are EN 12390-2, BS 1881:108 and UNI 6127.

Frequently Asked Questions

What load can the vibrating table carry?
Its design load is 140 kg, spread over a table top measuring 500 × 500 mm.

What vibration frequencies can be set?
The table works between a maximum of 3600 and a minimum of 2600 vibrations per minute, and a speed regulation handle raises or lowers the frequency within that span.

How are moulds kept in place while the table vibrates?
Stops along the edges of the top keep moulds from walking off, and a cross arm, set on a vertical rod at the table's centre, holds them down.

How is the vibration produced?
A motor with a variable pitch pulley, housed in a cabinet, drives a vibrator clamped under the table top, and off-balance masses rotating on its shaft produce the vibration.

What electrical supply does the vibrating table need?
It is built for operation on 230 Volts, A.C., single phase, 50 cycles, and a switch is provided for starting the motor.

Which standards are listed for compaction on the table?
The standards listed are EN 12390-2, BS 1881:108 and UNI 6127; the table compacts concrete in its moulds by vibration from below.
