Pick and Place Robot Trainer

Pick and Place Robot Trainer

Product Code : EL-RAMLE-10882

Pick and Place Robot Trainer (code EL-RAMLE-10882) is a PLC-controlled robot trainer that moves in three axes (X, Y and Z) to pick up and place objects, used for hands-on robotics and automation training. Lead/ball screw linear guideways driven by bidirectional stepper motors and a bipolar stepper driver card (24 VDC, 1.8°/0.9° per pulse) move a jaw with open/close action, and the PLC side offers 14 digital inputs, 10 digital outputs, a PC-PLC cable and ladder programming software.

What Is the Pick and Place Robot Trainer Used For?

Pick and place handling, in which a machine takes a part from one position and sets it down at another, is one of the most common automation tasks and a usual first exercise in robot programming. Students write a ladder program on the PC, download it through the PC-PLC cable and set the sequence of X, Y and Z moves, jaw opening and closing and lift height, using the digital inputs and outputs for the signals the sequence needs. The auto or manual mode and direction selection on the stepper driver card let each axis be jogged and checked before the full cycle is run.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the robot controlled?
It is controlled by a PLC, programmed with the supplied ladder programming software and connected to a PC through the PC-PLC interfacing cable.

How many axes does it move in?
The trainer moves in three axes, X, Y and Z, using lead/ball screw linear guideways for the X-Y movement and a robotic jaw with open and close action.

What drives the axes?
Bidirectional stepper motors rated 10 Kg/cm², with 20.6 mm long, 6.35 mm diameter shafts, are run by a bipolar stepper driver card on a 24 VDC motor supply.

What step angle does the driver card give?
The bipolar driver card gives an angular rotation of 1.8° or 0.9° per pulse, with auto and manual modes plus enable, disable and direction selection.

How many inputs and outputs are available?
The PLC arrangement provides the equivalent of 14 digital inputs and 10 digital outputs for building the pick and place sequence.

What are the size and weight?
The trainer measures approx. 600 × 600 × 700 mm (L × W × H), and its approximate machine weight is 25 kg.
