What Is the Pipette Tip Used For?
Pipette tips fit onto the shaft of an air-displacement pipette and hold the liquid so that it never touches the pipette itself. When liquid is drawn up, fine droplets and vapour can be carried towards the pipette and left inside it, then passed on to the next sample; the PE filter blocks this path. The user opens the hinged rack with one hand, presses the pipette into a tip, takes up and dispenses the sample and ejects the tip. As the tips carry no DNase, RNase, human DNA or PCR inhibitors, they can be used for PCR and other molecular work.
