What Are the TIG Welding Machines Used For?

TIG welding strikes an arc from a non-consumable tungsten electrode while an inert shielding gas protects the weld pool, and filler rod is added by hand where needed, giving clean, controlled welds. The welder sets the current anywhere from 0 to 300 A to match material from 0.5 mm to 6 mm thick and works within the rated duty cycle for that current: 100% at 210 A, 60% at 250 A and 35% at 300 A. The same machines also supply current for MMA welding, and electrodes up to 6 mm can be used.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Quantity — the number of TIG welding machines required.

Frequently Asked Questions

What current and duty cycle ratings do these machines have?
Output current adjusts from 0 to 300 A; the rated duty cycle is 35% at 300 A, 60% at 250 A and 100% at 210 A, with a rated output voltage of 22 V.

What thickness of material can be welded?
The suitable welding thickness is 0.5 mm to 6 mm, and welding electrodes up to 6 mm can be used.

What supply do they need?
They need a 3 phase, 415 +10% supply at 50/60 Hz, with a rated input power capacity of 10 KVA; no-load consumption is 60 W.

Can they also be used for MMA welding?
Yes. A current of 0-300 A is listed for MMA, so the machines can be used for manual metal arc welding with coated electrodes as well as for TIG welding.

How are the machines insulated and protected?
The insulation is class H, a class rated for high winding temperatures, and the protection class is IP21, IP23.

How big and heavy are they?
Each machine measures 480 × 205 × 355 mm and weighs approximately 17 kg, with an efficiency of 85% and a power factor of 0.93.
