What Is the Rotary High Vacuum Pump Used For?
Vacuum pumps lower the pressure in a closed system for jobs such as vacuum filtration, degassing, vacuum drying and desiccation, and for evacuating apparatus before a test. In an oil sealed rotary pump a rotating mechanism carries gas from the inlet to the outlet while oil seals the clearances and lubricates the moving parts, and a double stage pump reaches a lower final pressure than a single stage one. The operator checks the oil level in the sight gauge before use, connects the apparatus through the moisture trap and non-return valve where fitted, and reads the vacuum on the gauge; the drain plug is used for oil changes.
