What Is the Hydraulic Press Machine Used For?

A hydraulic press uses oil pressure acting on a piston to give a large, controllable force for pressing, straightening, bending, assembling or forming work. In this press the gear pump in the power pack draws oil from the tank through the suction strainer and sends it to the double acting cylinder; the operator moves the hand lever of the direction control valve to drive the ram down onto the work or back up, and watches the pressure on the gauge. Oil returns to the tank through the return line filter. The tank is supplied empty and is filled with oil before use.
