Laser Distance Meter
Product Code : EL-SLE-10981
Laser Distance Meter (code EL-SLE-10981) is a handheld instrument that measures the distance to an object or across a span without contact, by timing laser pulses travelling between the meter and the object. It is made of lightweight plastic with a compact soft-grip body, calculates areas and volumes, measures from edges or corners with a flip-out end piece, tracks and stores minimum and maximum readings, and shows results on a 3-line display readable in the dark.

What Is the Laser Distance Meter Used For?
A laser distance meter replaces reel-in tapes and walking wheels when a distance has to be measured quickly or the far point cannot be reached. The user rests the meter against the starting point, using the flip-out end piece when measuring out of an edge or corner, aims the laser at the target surface and takes the reading; the meter times the laser pulse to the surface and back and converts it into distance. Two or three readings can be combined into an area or a volume, and minimum and maximum tracking helps find, for example, the shortest distance across a room. It suits carpentry, masonry, electrical and landscape work.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the number of laser distance meters required.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the laser distance meter measure distance?
It measures the transit time of laser pulses between the meter and the object and, taking the speed of light into account, converts that time into distance without contact.
Can it calculate area and volume?
Yes. Besides single distances it calculates areas and volumes from the measured lengths, and it tracks and stores minimum and maximum measurements.
How are measurements taken from corners or edges?
A flip-out end piece lets the meter be placed against an edge or into a corner, so that the measurement starts from that point.
Is the display readable in poor light?
Results appear on a 3-line display that can be read even in the dark, which helps in dim rooms and on unlit sites.
Who uses a laser distance meter?
It is used in construction trades such as carpentry, masonry and electrical work, and by landscapers, developers, locksmiths and industrial users.
What comes with the meter?
The lightweight plastic meter has a compact soft-grip body and comes with a suitcase carrying case and a holster for stowing it away.
