What Is the Hydraulic Guillotine Shearing Machine Used For?

A guillotine shear cuts a sheet along a straight line as the upper blade on the ram travels down past the lower blade on the table. The rake angle is the slope of the upper blade along its length: a small angle gives a flat, twist-free cut in thin sheet, while a larger angle reduces the force needed so that a higher cutting capacity is reached. The operator sets the rake angle hydraulically to suit the sheet, positions it and makes the cut, with the hydraulic and electrical interlocks protecting the machine against overloading.
