What Is the Wire Butt Welding Machine Used For?
Butt welding joins two wire ends squarely end to end, so the joined wire keeps the same diameter and can pass through dies, machines or coils without a lap or knot. The two ends are clamped in line, current is passed through the joint until the ends reach welding heat, and they are pressed together to fuse; any upset metal around the joint is then trimmed. This machine does the job as an automatic grade unit, working on 100-440 V with an output current of 50-200 A.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the number of wire butt welders required.
Frequently Asked Questions
What supply voltage does it work on?
The machine works on a voltage range of 100-440 V and gives an output current in the range of 50-200 Amperes.
Is the machine manual or automatic?
It is of automatic grade, so the welding sequence is carried out by the machine once the wire ends have been set in place.
Why is wire butt welded?
A butt weld joins wire ends without overlap, so the wire keeps its diameter and can run on through drawing dies, machines or coils as one continuous length.
