What Is the Cut Model of Self Starting System Used For?
Before an engine can run under its own power, the starter motor has to crank it, and a fault anywhere in the battery, switch, relay or solenoid circuit leaves the engine unable to start. Connected to a 12V battery or jump box, the trainer lets students turn the ignition switch, see how the clutch switch takes part in the circuit and watch the cut-away starter engage, while the Plexiglas enclosure keeps hands clear of moving parts. The instructor can then switch in any of the four faults, and students test and verify the circuit to trace each one, or bridge the solenoid with a remote starter switch.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the number of starting system trainers required.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the trainer need in order to run?
It is operated from a 12V battery or a jump box, which supplies the starter, relay and switch circuit during demonstrations.
Can students see inside the starter while it runs?
Yes. Key areas of the starter are cut away, so all internal components, including the planetary gear reduction, can be watched during live operation behind a Plexiglas enclosure.
How many faults can be inserted?
Four operational faults can be inserted through the fault box, giving students starting circuit problems to diagnose and troubleshoot.
Which components make up the starting circuit?
The trainer includes the starter, an ignition switch, a clutch switch, a relay and a circuit breaker with reset, alongside the 4-fault box.
Can the solenoid be operated without the ignition switch?
The starter solenoid can be bridged at its primary terminals with a remote starter switch, which is not included with the trainer.
How large is it?
Approximately 550 × 400 × 300 mm (L × W × H), with a weight of about 20 kg.
