Motor Cycle Dynamometer Test Bench

Motor Cycle Dynamometer Test Bench

Product Code : EL-TELE-10700

Motor Cycle Dynamometer Test Bench (code EL-TELE-10700) is a roller-type chassis dynamometer for testing two-wheelers, from individual engine units to complete vehicles ranging from scooters to big sport bikes. The motorcycle's wheel drives a non-slip chrome roller fitted with a safety brake, wheel and roller speed sensors give the readings, and a pneumatic automatic wheel clamp holds the machine without straps. Its 3 mm steel monobloc chassis houses the exhaust extraction and cooling fans under a chequer plate deck.

What Is the Motor Cycle Dynamometer Test Bench Used For?

A chassis dynamometer lets a motorcycle be run under load while it stays in one place: the driven wheel turns a roller, and the speed and braking of that roller show how the machine performs. The technician wheels the motorcycle up the folding ramp, the pneumatic clamp holds the wheel, and the driven wheel rests on the chrome roller. During the run the fans cool the engine, exhaust, rear tyre and brake, the extraction fan draws off exhaust gas, and the wheel and roller speed sensors give the readings. The ramp folds up as a safety barrier, and the clamp and grooved roller also allow a frame alignment check.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Quantity — the number of dynamometers required.
  • Electric starter control — whether the optional electric starter control is to be included.

Frequently Asked Questions

What range of motorcycles can be tested?
Application-specific tests are possible from an individual engine unit up to a complete vehicle, covering everything from scooters to big sport bikes.

How is the motorcycle held on the bench?
A pneumatic automatic wheel clamp holds it without straps, so one person can load the machine, and together with the roller the clamp allows a frame alignment check.

Which sensors does the dynamometer use?
It has a wheel speed sensor and a roller speed sensor, and the non-slip chrome roller carries a safety brake, with a separate roller brake also fitted.

How are the engine and tyres kept cool during a test?
Engine cooling fans blow through outlets onto the engine and exhaust pipes, and a rear tyre cooling fan has an outlet for the rear tyre, motorcycle brake and silencers.

What safety features are included?
The integral folding access ramp doubles as a safety barrier, further safety barriers have Perspex screens, guards are part of the standard unit and the roller has a safety brake.

What does the standard unit include?
The standard unit comes with engine cooling fans, a rear tyre cooling fan, an exhaust gas extraction fan, guards, the ramp and the pneumatic automatic wheel clamp, built into a 3 mm steel monobloc chassis. Electric starter control is optional.
