Distributor Ignition System Trainer
Product Code : EL-TELE-10694
Distributor Ignition System Trainer (code EL-TELE-10694) is a working training board for teaching how the distributor-type electronic ignition system of a petrol car engine generates sparks in the firing order. It is built from new automobile components set out on a steel turret, including a distributor with Hall effect sensor, ignition control module, ignition coil, spark plugs with plug wires and a 12 V DC power supply. A low-speed electric motor turns the distributor, and a fault box with 4 faults supports diagnosis practice.

What Is the Distributor Ignition System Trainer Used For?
In a distributor ignition system the ignition coil produces the high voltage for each spark, and the rotating distributor sends it to the spark plugs one after another in the engine's firing order; here a Hall effect sensor in the distributor signals the ignition control module when to fire the coil. With the motor turning the distributor, students see the sparks appear at the plugs in sequence and can follow each part on the steel turret. Faults are then introduced from the fault box, and students locate them by checking the circuit at the test points, as in workshop diagnosis on a petrol car.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Distributor Ignition System Trainer demonstrate?
It demonstrates the operation of a typical electronic ignition system with a distributor, as used in petrol cars, showing how the sparks are generated and the order in which the plugs fire.
Are real automotive parts used?
Yes. The board is built from actual automobile petrol-engine components, all brand new, including the distributor, ignition coil, ignition control module, spark plugs and plug wires.
What triggers the ignition in the distributor?
The distributor is fitted with a Hall effect sensor, and the ignition control module uses its signal to decide when the ignition coil fires.
How is the distributor turned during a demonstration?
A low-speed electric motor drives the distributor, so that the spark generation and the firing order can be shown to students as the board runs.
Can faults be introduced for troubleshooting practice?
A fault box with 4 faults is fitted, and the board has test points for diagnosis, so students can trace each inserted fault through the ignition circuit.
What power supply and size does the board have?
It runs from a 12 V DC power supply, measures 500 × 600 × 400 mm (L × W × H) and weighs approximately 80 kg.
