What Is the Wood Working Table Saw Motor Driven Used For?

A table saw cuts with a circular blade rising through the table: ripping runs along the grain, crosscutting goes across it with the miter gauge, and dado cuts form grooves and housings. The operator sets blade height with the handwheels, tilts the blade up to 45 degrees for bevels, feeds the board across the cast iron table and changes blades using the push button arbor lock. Rips of up to 30 inch right of the blade are possible, the riving knife and leaf guard stay in place during cutting, and a dust extractor of at least 350 CFM is connected to the 4 inch port.

Frequently Asked Questions

What blade and arbor does the saw use?
It takes a 10 inch diameter blade on a 5/8 inch arbor turning at 4300 RPM; a push button arbor lock allows rapid blade changes and an arbor wrench is supplied.

How deep and how wide can it cut?
Maximum depth of cut is 3 inch, or 2-1/8 inch with the blade at 45 degrees, and the rip capacity is 13 inch left and 30 inch right of the blade.

Can it cut dados?
Yes. Dado cuts up to 8 inch in diameter and 13/16 inch in width can be made, giving grooves and housings for joinery.

What electrical supply is needed?
The 3 HP motor is single phase, 230 V, draws 14.5 A and comes prewired for 230 V; it is switched through a rail-mounted magnetic switch with overload protection.

What dust collection does it need?
Connect a collector giving at least 350 CFM to the built-in dust port of 4 inch outside diameter; the shrouded blade helps direct the dust to the collection.

Which safety features are fitted?
A quick release riving knife reduces binding and kickback, and an independent leaf safety guard protects the operator from the blade while cutting, even with the blade tilted to 45 degrees.
