Core Drilling Machine (Petrol)
Product Code : EL-BTLE-10420
Core Drilling Machine (Petrol) (code EL-BTLE-10420) is a wheel-mounted coring machine that takes cores of up to 200 mm diameter in concrete, asphalt and other hard construction materials. A 6.5 Hp 4 stroke petrol engine drives the drill head on a vertical support column at 900 R.P.M. for soft samples or 350 R.P.M. for hard ones, with 500 mm of head travel on the rack and a ball screw for controlling drilling pressure.

What Is the Core Drilling Machine (Petrol) Used For?
Cores cut from a finished asphalt layer or a concrete slab let the laboratory check thickness, density and other properties of material that has actually been laid, rather than of a sample made up in the laboratory. The machine is wheeled to the test point, levelled and fixed on its base frame, and fitted with a thin wall diamond bit and core barrel. The operator selects the lower speed for hard material or the higher one for soft, feeds the head down with the ball screw while water is sprayed at the cut, and returns the head rapidly once the core is free. The standard listed for it is EN 12697-27.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the number of machines required.
- Coring bits — the thin wall diamond bits and core barrel needed for the core sizes to be cut, up to 200 mm diameter, as coring bits are ordered separately.
Frequently Asked Questions
How large a core can the petrol core drill cut?
Cores of up to 200 mm diameter can be taken, working in concrete, asphalt or other hard construction material, with thin wall diamond bits fitted to the drill head.
What powers the drill head?
The drill head is driven by a 6.5 Hp 4 stroke petrol engine, which forms the motor assembly carried on the vertical support column. The accessory list also names a 190 cc petrol engine.
Which drill speed suits which material?
Hard material is drilled at the slower speed of 350 R.P.M., while the 900 R.P.M. setting is used when the sample is soft.
How far does the drill head travel?
The head has 500 mm of travel on the rack, and its ball screw mechanism gives close control of the drilling pressure as well as rapid return after coring.
Are coring bits part of the supply?
Coring bits are ordered separately. Thin wall diamond bits and a core barrel are listed as the accessories to be chosen for the core sizes needed.
How is the machine set up on site?
It stands on a rigid, wheel mounted metal base frame of 625 × 900 mm with levelling and fixing facility, about 1300 mm high, and carries a water spraying assembly and built-in water swivel.
