What Is the Mixer with Heating Jacket Used For?

Preparing a bituminous specimen starts with blending hot aggregate and binder into an even mix, and the mix cools quickly once it leaves the oven, so this mixer heats the bowl itself. The batch is placed in the 6 litre bowl, the heating jacket and Iso Mantle heater keep the base of the bowl hot, and the beater works the material in planetary or revolving action until the binder coats all the aggregate. The bowl height is set to suit the beater, and when mixing is finished the bowl is lifted off so the mix can be moulded or tested.
