What Is the TDS Meter Used For?
Total dissolved solids is the amount of salts, minerals and other substances dissolved in water, and it is checked on water used for mixing and curing concrete, for laboratory work and for drinking. The pen tip is dipped in the sample and the reading is shown on the meter; the built-in temperature sensor allows for the effect of temperature on the reading. The hold function freezes the value so that it can be noted after the meter is withdrawn, and the auto off switches the meter off to save the LR44 batteries. The pouch protects it when carried to site.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a TDS meter measure?
It measures total dissolved solids, the amount of salts, minerals and other matter dissolved in a water sample, which affects its suitability for testing, mixing or drinking.
Why does it have a temperature sensor?
A built-in temperature sensor is fitted because the conductivity of water, from which the dissolved solids are worked out, changes with temperature.
What does the hold function do?
Hold keeps the reading on the meter after it is taken out of the sample, so the result can be read and recorded in comfort.
What batteries does it use and how is battery life saved?
The meter runs on LR44 batteries, and an auto off function switches it off when it is not in use to extend their life.
How is the meter carried and stored?
It is a compact, hand held pen type meter supplied in a protective carrying pouch for safety and portability.
