Cruise Control Trainer

Cruise Control Trainer

Product Code : EL-TELE-10693

Cruise Control Trainer (code EL-TELE-10693) is a training unit that reproduces the structure and operation of a mechanical-type vehicle cruise control system (CCS), used for teaching and maintenance training on how a car holds a constant road speed. It works at a 12 V DC operating voltage from an external AC 220 V, 50 Hz supply, uses OEM components, and has variable speed and load control together with on/off, set/accel, resume, brake and clutch controls.

What Is the Cruise Control Trainer Used For?

Cruise control keeps a car at a set road speed so the driver can take a foot off the accelerator, which on long highway journeys saves the effort of holding the pedal down. The system compares the measured road speed with the set speed and moves the throttle to hold them equal; in a vehicle, pressing the brake or clutch pedal normally cancels it and the resume button restores the set speed. On the trainer students work these controls, change the speed and load, and trace the speed signal and throttle actuator parts, so it serves both theory lessons and maintenance training in vocational and technical institutions.

What to Specify When Ordering

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of cruise control system does the trainer represent?
It reproduces the structure and operation of a mechanical-type cruise control system (CCS), the system a vehicle uses to maintain a constant road speed without the driver holding the throttle.

Where does the system get its speed signal?
The speed signal can come from a rotating driveshaft, a speedometer cable, a wheel speed sensor, the engine RPM, or internal speed pulses produced electronically by the vehicle.

How is the set speed held?
The throttle cable is pulled by a solenoid or a vacuum-driven servomechanism, or, in a vehicle with a drive-by-wire system, the speed is held by its built-in electronic systems.

What power supply does the trainer need?
It takes an external supply of AC 220 V 10%, 50 Hz and works at an operating voltage of 12 V DC.

Which institutions is it designed for?
It is meant for teaching cruise control theory and maintenance in secondary and senior vocational skill schools, as well as in general education and training institutions.

What should an export enquiry for this trainer contain?
State the number of trainers, the destination country and the port or city of delivery, the delivery terms wanted, such as FOB or CIF, any packing requirements and the tender reference if there is one.
