Pavement Core Drilling Machine
Product Code : EL-BTLE-10954
Pavement Core Drilling Machine (code EL-BTLE-10954) is an engine-driven coring machine for drilling test cores or holes in bridges, roads, airport runways and similar structures. A 5 HP petrol or diesel engine with pulley drive turns the bit, which advances on a 20 mm screwed spindle between two vertical support columns at 475 or 800 rpm, taking bit diameters from 25 mm to 150 mm to a maximum core depth of 700 mm from a rigid metal base with levelling facility.

What Is the Pavement Core Drilling Machine Used For?
Cores drilled from a finished road, bridge deck or runway let engineers measure layer thickness and test the in-place material for density, strength or binder content, rather than relying on samples made at the plant. The machine is set on its base over the test point and levelled on the pads, water from the tank is fed through the 12 mm tap to cool the bit and flush out cuttings, and the operator chooses 475 or 800 rpm to suit the material. The bit is fed vertically down with the screwed spindle until the required depth, up to 700 mm, is reached, and the core is then broken out and lifted for testing.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the number of machines required.
- Engine — petrol or diesel.
- Bit diameter — the core diameters needed, between 25 mm and 150 mm.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the Pavement Core Drilling Machine used?
It drills test cores or holes in bridges, roads, airport runways and similar paved structures, coring vertically down from its rigid metal base.
What core sizes and depths can it reach?
Bit diameters range from 25 mm to 150 mm, and the maximum depth of core that can be achieved is 700 mm.
Which engine options are offered?
The machine comes with a 5 HP engine, either petrol or diesel, driving the head through a pulley mechanism that keeps vibration to a minimum.
What drill speeds are available?
Two drill speeds are supported, 475 rpm and 800 rpm, and the bit is fed by a 20 mm dia screwed spindle, with a 50 mm dia guide shaft.
What accessories are included?
Drill wrenches, a water tank and levelling pads are included, and a 12 mm water tap supplies water to the drilling point.
What goes into an export enquiry for this machine?
List the number of machines and the engine type, the destination country with its port or city, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, packing requirements and the tender reference, if any.
