Prism Mould 25x25x280 mm
Product Code : EL-CTLE-10352
Prism Mould 25x25x280 mm (code EL-CTLE-10352) is a mould with three compartments (three gang) for casting the mortar prisms used in the accelerated expansion test. Each of the three prisms measures 25 × 25 × 280 mm, contact points are supplied with the mould, and each prism gives a 250 mm gauge length out of its 280 mm overall length.

What Is the Prism Mould 25x25x280 mm Used For?
An accelerated expansion test exposes mortar prisms to conditions that speed up a harmful reaction, so that expansion which would otherwise build up slowly shows within a short test period. The three compartments are filled with mortar together, with a contact point at each end of every prism. After demoulding, the length of each prism over its 250 mm gauge length is read, the prisms go into the test exposure, and readings are repeated at set intervals; the growth in length shows how far the mortar has expanded. The standard listed for the test is UNI 11504.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Prism Mould 25x25x280 mm used for?
It casts the mortar prisms for the accelerated expansion test in the cement laboratory, three at a time, and the standard listed for the test is UNI 11504.
What length do the prisms have?
Each prism has a total length of 280 mm, of which 250 mm is the gauge length over which the expansion readings are taken.
Does the mould come with contact points?
Yes. Contact points are supplied with the mould and are cast into the prism ends, giving the fixed measuring points for each length reading.
How many prisms are cast at once?
Being a three gang mould, it casts three 25 × 25 × 280 mm prisms in a single filling, all from the same batch of mortar.
