What Is the High Temperature Convection Oven Used For?
Hot air ovens dry samples and glassware and sterilize heat-resistant items with dry heat, and a convection oven drives the air round the chamber with a blower so that the heat reaches all parts of the load evenly. The operator places the items in the stainless steel chamber, sets the control temperature anywhere from 100 °C to 350 °C and runs the oven for the period the procedure requires. The ceramic blanket insulation keeps the heat in the chamber and the outer surface from burning, and the 440 V 3 phase supply is used where the temperature requirement calls for it.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the number of ovens required.
- Power supply — 220/230 V single phase or 440 V 3 phase, to suit the temperature required.
Frequently Asked Questions
What temperature can the oven be controlled at?
The oven is controlled from 100 °C to 350 °C, and once the set point is reached it stays within ±2 °C during continuous duty.
Which power supplies can be used?
It runs on a 220/230 V single phase AC supply (±10%, 50 Hz), or on a 440 V 3 phase supply where the temperature requirement calls for it.
How is heat spread through the chamber?
Coil shaped heaters are embedded in the oven and a hot air blower circulates the air, giving temperature distribution and air movement throughout the chamber.
What insulation is used?
The oven is insulated with high temperature ceramic blanket, together with mineral wool or glass wool, which keeps the outer surface from being burnt.
What are the chamber and housing made of?
The chamber is lined with polished stainless steel of 304 grade, and the outer housing is CRC or powder coated mild steel.
