Mechanical Convection Hot Air Oven
Product Code : EL-LEAA-10993
Mechanical Convection Hot Air Oven (code EL-LEAA-10993) is a laboratory oven that uses a blower to circulate heated air for drying and sterilization. It controls from 50 °C to 250 °C with a stability of ±1 °C to ±0.5 °C through a microprocessor based PID controller with high and low temperature alarms, and has a polished 304 grade stainless steel interior with adjustable shelves inside a CRC powder coated mild steel housing.

What Is the Mechanical Convection Hot Air Oven Used For?
In a mechanical or forced convection oven a fan drives the heated air through the chamber, so heat reaches every shelf instead of relying on warm air rising by itself, and the temperature is more even from top to bottom. Samples, glassware and containers are placed on the adjustable shelves, the set point is entered on the PID controller, and the oven holds that temperature for the drying or dry-heat sterilization period, warning the operator if the temperature moves too high or too low. With the glass door option the load can be watched when working up to 200 °C.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the number of ovens required.
- Outer body — standard CRC powder coated mild steel or the stainless steel 304 grade body.
- Options — whether the communication interface, the glass door for working up to 200 °C or the double colour gate is wanted.
Frequently Asked Questions
Over what temperatures can the oven be controlled?
The controlled range is 50 °C to 250 °C, and the temperature stability is given as ±1 °C to ±0.5 °C.
How is the oven temperature controlled?
A microprocessor based PID digital controller cum indicator sets and shows the temperature, a bi-metallic hydraulic capillary thermostat is fitted, and alarms warn of high or low temperature.
How does mechanical convection differ from natural convection?
In natural convection heated air circulates only by rising and falling, whereas a mechanical convection oven uses a blower to drive the air through the chamber for a more even temperature distribution.
Is a glass door available?
A glass door is offered as an option for working temperatures up to 200 °C, so the load can be seen without opening the oven.
What is the inner chamber made of?
The interior is polished 304 grade stainless steel with adjustable shelves that can be set for items of different heights; the outer housing is CRC powder coated mild steel.
Can the oven run for long periods?
Its duty cycle is continuous, and power comes from a 220/230 V AC mains supply, single phase at 50 Hz, through the mains panel and main switch.
