What Is the Computerized Air Conditioner Trainer Used For?
Because every component can be switched on or off on its own, students can treat the duct as a sequence of processes and see what each one, or any combination, does to the air passing through. A typical exercise sets the fan speed, preheats, cools and dehumidifies the air, humidifies it with steam and reheats it, then plots each state from the before-and-after temperature and humidity readings on the h-x diagram. The refrigerant pressures and temperatures locate the refrigeration process on a log p-h chart, and with the refrigerant flow rate the heating and cooling capacities are calculated, all logged on a PC through the included software.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — how many computerised air conditioner trainers are wanted.
- Power supply version — 230 V 1 phase at either 50 Hz or 60 Hz, to match the laboratory mains.
Frequently Asked Questions
What can be studied with the Computerized Air Conditioner Trainer?
Students examine how each component of an air conditioning system works and what it does to the air, alone or in combination, and determine heating and cooling capacities using the h-x and log p-h representations.
Which components are in the air duct?
The open air duct contains an air cooler (a direct evaporator with condensing unit), a steam humidifier, a fan, and air preheaters and reheaters, each of which can be switched on or off.
What are the humidifier and fan ratings?
The steam humidifier consumes 4 kW and gives 5,5 kg/h of steam in three stages; the fan uses 167 W, moves up to 1150 m³/h and runs at 1000 to 2600 min-1.
How is the refrigerant flow rate found?
The flow rate of the refrigerant is worked out from the pressure measurement, and it is measured over a range of 8 to 102 L/h.
How are measured values recorded?
Values appear on digital displays and are sent at the same time to a PC via USB, using the data acquisition software supplied with the trainer.
What is the condensing unit capacity?
Under 5/25 °C conditions the condensing unit delivers 2,3 kW of refrigeration capacity and consumes 968 W of power.
