Flow Tables for Mortar and Building Lime
Product Code : EL-CTLE-10349
Flow Tables for Mortar and Building Lime (code EL-CTLE-10349) are drop tables used to determine the consistency of fresh mortar and building lime from the spread of a moulded sample. They are offered to EN or ASTM standards in manual and motor-operated forms and come with a flow mould and tamper, the EN versions adding a filling hopper; motor-operated tables use a motor speed reducer and a digital counter that stops the machine after the preset number of drops.

What Are the Flow Tables for Mortar and Building Lime Used For?
The flow test gives a quick, repeatable measure of how wet or stiff a fresh mortar or lime mix is, so that batches can be compared or adjusted to a target consistency. The operator places the flow mould at the centre of the table, fills it in layers, compacting each with the tamper, strikes it level and lifts the mould away. The table is then raised and dropped the set number of times, by hand or by the motor until the counter stops it, and the diameter of the spread sample is measured as the flow value.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the number of flow tables required.
- Standard — the EN version, which includes a filling hopper, or the ASTM version.
- Operation — manual, or motor operated with the preset digital drop counter.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which versions of the flow table are available?
Tables are offered to EN and to ASTM standards, and each can be manual or motor operated, so the buyer chooses both the standard and the type of drive.
How does the motor-operated table count drops?
A motor speed reducer drives the table, the required number of drops is preset on a digital counter, and the counter stops the machine automatically when the cycle ends.
What is supplied with the flow table?
Every table comes complete with a flow mould and a tamper, and the EN versions are also supplied with a filling hopper.
What does the flow value show?
The spread of the mortar after the drops shows its consistency: a wider spread means a wetter, more fluid mix, and a smaller spread a stiffer one.
Which standards are listed?
The standards listed for the flow tables are EN 459-2, EN 1015-3, ASTM C230, UNI 7044, EN 13279-2 and ASTM C1437.
