What Is the Digital pH Meter Used For?
pH expresses how acidic or alkaline a water or solution is, and it is one of the first tests on drinking water, wastewater and soil extracts because it affects treatment, corrosion and biological activity. The meter is first calibrated against buffer solutions, with the slope control used to match the electrode response, and the electrode is then dipped in the sample and the value read on the LED display once it settles. Since electrode response changes with temperature, the reading is corrected either automatically or from a temperature set by hand. The mV range serves for redox potential readings.
